Lisa Hirschhorn, MD MPH is Professor of Medical Social Science and Director for the Ryan Family Center for Global Primary Care at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Trained in medicine and HIV and QI, Dr Hirschhorn is an expert in implementation research and improvement science and patient centered outcome research, actively applying these methods to improve the quality and equity of care in resource limited settings including non-communicable diseases, maternal, neonatal and child health, HIV and primary care. She collaborates with teams in countries in Africa Latin America and Asia in research and implementation working to improve access, quality and equity of care across the lifespan. She also leads work to increase research capacity in implementation research, patient-centered outcomes research and quality improvement through multiple grants and individual mentorship and serves on advisory boards to provide insights into quality and change
