CEO Update April 2017

Each of the Board members were in good spirits and eager to participate fully in the discussions. Julian Tyndale-Biscoe from InHealth Communications Ltd was invited to speak to the Board on how they can disseminate ISQua’s message further. We see the Board members as ambassadors for the ISQua mission and hope to maximise the impact that we can have.

2017 will be the year we expand our networks. Four priority networks will be developed or improved over the next 9 months – Experts, QI Networks, Africa Community of Practice, & Person Centred Care. The Board approved a number of new Experts who will be key in helping to develop and deliver ISQua’s programmes.

The Board were determined to also improve and expand on our Membership numbers and benefits. We hope that you’ll join us by telling a friend or colleague about ISQua and inviting them to become a Member.

Remember, this is an election year and we need up to 8 Members to join our Board in October – If you’re interested in standing for election please read our article below on how to apply. The election year is important and we need to have a body of members to vote!

On Wednesday, 29th March, three of our Board members, Cliff Hughes, David Bates & Leslee Thompson, spoke at the 1st Leading for Quality in Changing Times Conference - a national conference celebrating QI success stories from across the world, which was hosted by RCPI in association with ISQua.

The day was a wonderful success with over 400 attendees hearing inspiring success stories from those leading the delivery of safer, higher quality and more cost-effective healthcare. A recording of each of the ISQua speakers can be found on our website. At the same time two Board members, Jeffery Braithwaite and Villis Marshall were at the Bonn Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety.

We’ve received a lot of interest for this year’s Conference in London and with the programme now available online we expect the registration numbers to increase exponentially! Remember to register at the member rate before early bird closes on 12th July to get the best rate – you won’t want to miss this conference!

As we enter the summer here in Dublin there is much on the go. Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss anything regarding ISQua.
