The ISQua Fellowship is an online programme through which ISQua offers courses for self-study and self-improvement. Content is delivered by the world's most renowned experts in quality improvement, patient safety, and global standard-setting. The Fellowship has grown strongly over the past years and currently counts more than 2,200 active learners from all regions of the World, with strong participation from lower-resourced settings.
ISQua now wants to engage an Education Editor whose primary objective will be to lead the development of the portfolio of courses to ensure that it remains up-to-date, relevant and attractive to existing and prospective Fellows.

Job Description
The role will require the Education Editor to fulfil the following:
1. Review of courses
2. Development of new courses
3. Update of existing courses
The Editor will report to the CEO of ISQua and will work closely with ISQua’s Education Team (currently two FTEs), and in addition to his/her own network, will have access to a large panel of subject matter experts, including;
1. The ISQua Academy
2. The ISQua Experts
3. The members of ISQua’s Education Advisory Committee
The Editor will be a member of ISQua’s Education Advisory Committee and will attend the ISQua Board meetings as needed. ISQua will support participation in the annual ISQua Conference.
Person Specifications
Essential
- Experienced professional with a background in healthcare quality improvement.
- Fluency is English
- Experience in professional education provision/development.
- Strategy - the appointee should contribute their prior expertise and experience in this role to strategic discussions on education and carry some responsibility for executing ISQua’s strategy with regard to education.
- Leadership - the appointee should be ready, willing and able to lead new directions for ISQua education based on the ever-changing context of global quality and safety healthcare education.
- Representation - the appointee should be capable of representing the position of ISQua on issues of education.
- Network Building - the appointee should be positioned and encouraged to expand ISQua’s network (breadth and depth) with regard to quality and safety education, with individual learners and institutions.
- Equity - the appointee should work continuously to improve equity of access to quality and safety education for all.
Terms and conditions
ISQua intends to engage the Education Editor as a contractor.
The expected workload corresponds to approximately one workday per week and will report to the ISQua CEO. ISQua’s office is situated in Dublin, Ireland. The Education Editor will provide the services remotely and is not required to reside in Ireland. The Education Editor may be required to travel to the annual International ISQua Conference. ISQua will support expenses related to this.
